I am a Hilton diamond member for years. in Europe points are never worth more than about 33 cents. In Asian maybe $.40. Might be different at very high end hotels but The normal Hiltons and Garden Inn’s I stay at Are at that pricing

I have Hilton Diamond (good benefits :))
But in europe their value at lower end and mid range hotels is usually about .33. Unfortunately not more than that unless you book high end hotels.

I, personally, don’t need to stay in a hotel that costs over $600 a night. As long as the hotel is in a descent location and comfortable, I’m fine staying in a $100/$200 a night hotel. The points required will be lower and make my stash last longer.

In reply to Suzanne Gray. Sorry to hear that Suzanne. I’ve heard this happens sometimes when you don’t book directly with the hotel. Hopefully you got a good enough deal to offset the points you lost out on?
